During the rehearsal sessions, the band re-recorded updated versions of three of their favorite Amebix songs: “Arise,” “Winter” and “Chain Reaction.” These new recordings are now being released as perhaps the most powerful Amebix record to date and proof that they have only gotten better with age.

Dousing everything with gasoline and setting the world ablaze, Common Enemy has unleashed their 5th and most aggressive studio album yet. As the World Burns sparks 16 tracks of pure post apocalyptic chaos, and good times to be had with friends while sitting back and watching it all burn. With influences ranging from hardcore punk to thrash metal, these songs ignite a spastic yet tight, as well as a somewhat, umm… matured… new and exciting sound that is experimental yet familiar, screaming out the pure passion and rage that each member personally feels about the situations that we’re all faced with. This is definitely the soundtrack of mass destruction, so bring your board, your bong, your best buds (both kinds), spark it up, and thrash out with Common Enemy as the world burns!
Concrete Facelift 'Loud, Fast, Raw' - P350.00 | $7.00
These insane skatecore legends hailing straight from Worcester, Massachusetts are no strangers to killer releases. Countless Shadows 'Maturity Through Tragedy' - P350.00 | $7.00
Countless Shadows is punishing four piece hardcore band hailing from Central California. With this there sophomore release CS have made"Maturity Through Tragedy" an honestly brutal and angst driven EP. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Internal Affairs, Blacklisted, the Bled, In Control, Darkest Hour and many more. Their sound is a well disguised mix of Strife, Madball, Hope Conspiracy and Integrity. For those of you that are sick of cookie cutter, girl pant wearing, wine with your cheese hardcore this this is your new salvation!
Crux / Pazahora (Split) - P350.00 | $7.00
Another yet to be among the best crust band from Asia Pacific region. And dare to say that both bands throw differ kind of crust music. Pazahora is from Singapore and play melodic driven crust, rock out and have this similar sound with bands like tragedy, or from ashes rises. The songs structure getting better and better, with more anthemic slogan, adding it out with more intensity inside.. While crux deliver another 5 songs that have this strong stench feeling inside. Imagine bands like amebix, sacrilege or newer one sanctum, you will get the answer. Sometimes they are fast and throw some mid pace crust but to describe them perfectly, the music is heavy. The vocalist anna do work hard on pulling out a full expression with a lot intensity and energy while singing and all in all this is very good stuff. Come out with gatefold cover. Crust fans will dig this.
Departures / Atlantic Hearts (Split) - P300.00 | $6.00
Fist In The Air is putting out some quality releases by excellent up-and-coming UK bands right now (see Take Courage, Santa Karla etc.), and this split adds to that run, delivering four songs each by two new(ish) bands – one, Atlantic Hearts, hailing from London, and the other, Departures, coming from North of the border. It’s the latter band who get this split underway, with a sound that’s loaded with anger but also a fair degree of tunefulness and expansiveness, with ‘Disappointment’ and ‘The View From Above’ displaying a particular melodic edge and offering driving riffs rather than thrashing brute force. Not unlike The Legacy or Verse, it’s intelligent, powerful stuff. Atlantic Hearts are equally powerful, albeit in a far blunter, rip-yer-face-off-and-stamp-on-it kind of way. Their half of the split is characterized by hate-filled lyrics delivering in a super-vitriolic style, while musically they’re not a million miles away from early Your Demise or Outbreak. Hurtling by in a cacophony of misanthropic anger, their four tracks are short, sharp and impressively straight to the point.
Anarchopunk-hardcore from Peru!
DISOBEY is an upcoming band from Lünen in Germany’s Ruhr area. Although they already started out in 2001 they only managed to put out a demo in 2004 and took part in various compilations by now. This makes “Wrong turns don’t count” their 1st full-length release. The record info describes Disobey as an old-school hardcore band with a punk rock attitude and that is exactly what they sound and appear like. Musically the 16 tracks on “Wrong turns don’t count” are heavily influenced by older NYHC such as mainly SICK OF IT ALL, fast but also moshy old-school hardcore with a real tough shouter, who adds some aggression to DISOBEY's sound. One of the songs on the record is a cover version of the song “break free” originally performed by RAISED FIST. If you like SICK OF IT ALL and NYC hardcore in general you should give these guys a shot.

New York Hardcore, but a notch above in terms of lyrical content. You won't hear about being "stabbed in the back" - but you'll still mosh your boots off. (The CD contains 11 extra live songs from 1990.)
Motorized assault of crustie D-Beat meets old school Death Metal from the debris of the whore capital of Western Slovenia. Hellcrawler are a bunch of cynical wasteland denizens who found unsavory panacea in the symbiosis of punk violence and heavy riffage. Fourteen tracks of spastic Ritalin-fueled hardcore thrash from the toxic underbelly of Minneapolis. Caustically sarcastic lyrics spewed over super crushing guitar riffs and relentless machine gun-like percussion. IN DEFENCE are definitely hometown favorites (usually drawing bigger crowds than the touring bands they support). They have a relentless tour schedule, and are comfortable playing with bands from across the d.i.y. hardcore / crust punk / thrash metal spectrum. IN DEFENCE have been likened to a cross between MUNICPAL WASTE and CODE 13.
Band from Brazil in the vein of hardcore new school, thashmetal. Great breaks, fast drums, great screaming vocals! The band finds place to its lyrics which always question human behaviour and the consequences it brings to our existence and our planet. We live in a time where the thirst for power makes us forget elementary feelings, just like friendship and respect for life.

Insurgent Kid is one of the few Umeå band who doesn't play the dying art of crust. this is more raw oldish hardcorepunk with cocky vocals. Besides that its really good, its a real allstar band with members from eclipse, dick cheney, seperation, ambulance and the list goes on.
Kleins96 'S/T' - P250.00 | $5.00

Outrageous 'S/T' - P300.00 | $6.00
Outrageous is a conspiracy of four youngsters from Sweden, who play some modern hardcore full of intensity and passion. Listening to their songs for the first time, Outrageous really reminds me of the latest album of GiveUpTheGhost, so strong, so blackly and so acute. This record feels like heavy autumn, only faster. With desperate lyrics, heavy breakdowns and a shouter of really great talent, Outrageous released a debut, that will absolutely make an impact in the world of fans of modern oldschool. With the words of Outrageous: 'This is not a whisper in the wind, this is a fucking tornado of words desperate for a change.'

Stretch Arm Strong 'Free At Last' - P350.00 | $7.00
Some people love this band, and it's not hard to see why with Free At Last. The album boasts twelve tracks of melodic hardcore songs about friendship, life, and the scene with big, moshtastic breakdowns and plenty of sing along parts. Stretch Arm Strong achieve a balance of punk melodies, hardcore intensity, and the occasional astonishingly metal guitar line. Though the melodicism sometimes break up the flow of the songs, Free At Last keeps up energy the whole way through. There are also these amazing bass booms at points during the album that freaked me the fuck out. Picking it up just to listen to it in your friend's pimped ride would be well worth it.

Un Quarto Morto started in 2006, the reason of this being that, when you live in a provincial town overpowered by boredom, you feel you want to do something. The idea is to play fast and in-your-face and let our feelings burst out. The result is a fast and violent hardcore, with lyrics that inquire the social context we’re living in.

V/A 'Fear The Elements' - P200.00 | $4.00
This 4 way split starts off with END IS FOREVER from Germany contributing 5 tracks. Featuring female vocals that will surely give Walls of Jericho, Gather, & Bloodlined Caligraphy a run for their money. Slayer riffs and a tinge of melodic riffs throughout, these guys and girls know their metal mixed with some hardcore breakdowns. The next 6 tracks are by Polish band JOHN DOE. You can expect blazing blast beats, lots of double bass, all accompanied by tortured screams over some serious metal riffs reminiscent of North Carolina bands Undying & Prayer For Cleansing. Up next are my favorites, LOYAL TO GRAVE from Japan who conjure up 3 more of their Syracuse influenced hardcore. Man I love this band! I can't get enough. The last 5 tracks come from Philippines FAILURE who have a real screamy hardcore punk approach. I'm not even sure who to compare them to but if you're looking for a few new bands to check out from other parts of the globe this is damn sure a good start!

V/A 'Too Legit For The Pit' - P150 | $3.00
The conceit behind this album is just too irresistible: A bunch of (mostly obscure) hardcore punk bands take on the giants of (mostly 1990s) hip-hop. The interpretations end up being surprisingly diverse: Candiria's rendition of "Deep Cover" (originally recorded by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg) is a sludge-funk grind; the Movielife take Public Enemy's "Can't Do Nuttin' for Ya Man" and strip it to the bone, building a new version out of a bass, funky drummer, one-note guitar obbligato, and a very quick sample. E-Town Concrete sounds an awful lot like middle-period Defunkt on its rendition of Nas' "The World Is Yours," while the Hoods bring the death with their shredded interpretation of the LL Cool J hit "Mama Said Knock You Out." But the class of this album, hands down, is Throwdown, which delivers an absolutely hilarious version of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back," complete with one of those Satan-voice guys roaring "baby got back" and "shake it shake it shake it." This is the best novelty album in years.

The songs on this 7" are the best from their demo and some new tracks all recorded by Tim Mac and produced with his trademark crunch. ALW takes on GW Bush and his war, emo, work, fashioncore and society and still finds time to contribute the uproarious song "I wish I could skate". Critical Twin Cities Hardcore!
Second EP from these Twin Cities new Hardcore insurgents. 8 tracks of positively charged aggressive Hardcore thrash. Musically similar to bands like Tear It Up, No Time Left, Infest, or Shark Attack. Lyrics deal with political corruption, all ages shows, dancefloor injustice, and the erosion of the rights of the individual in the face of corporate globalization. Features extremely sick artwork by Critical Colin and Bill Hauser.
Go! 'Your Power Means Nothing' - P250.00 | $5.00
Go! - Your Power Means Nothing 7”. In a nutshell, GO! was a New York Hardcore band around from 1989-1991. This is their first and classic single from 1990! GO! was about an awful lot, but they were so fucking sarcastic that it made it all alright. Pro-Gay and Lesbian; Feminist and anti-Sexism; anti-Racism and Violence. Yup. No apologies. And songs about Power and Civilization and Society, etc. Pretty serious stuff. Well yeah, but then we also have "Milk does your body good" and "Mom" and so on and there you have it. Life is balance. If you're into Gorilla Biscuits, MDC, Negative Approach and stuff like that try it out. Great Hardcore from NY with well thought-out lyrics - no neanderthal crap here.
Killed In Action 'Self Abuse' - P250.00 | $5.00

This is the follow up to their full length cd on Six Weeks.

Overload is band coming from Cleveland after a well received demo, here is their debut 7? Containing 4 brand new songs and 2 rerecorded ones. Overload has a more melodic approach to youth crew, less simplified and a little more in depth. Taking influences from the bands we all love.
Severe 'Snitch Slaughter' EP - 250.00 | $5.00
Raw and brutal beating from Ohio! Members of Tumor Feast and Killed In Action... Play very heavy and raw minimal blastcore/powerviolence.
The Smashrooms 'The Winds Of Tomorrow' - 250.00 | $5.00
4 tracks of traditional hardcore which is aggressive and raw but still maintains some level of melody. Colored Vinyl.
THE TANGLED LINES (Dresden, Germany) is a female fronted powerful blasting fast hardcore, having elements of old school hardcore, youth crew and positive hc with fast thrash beats and melodic parts. Stick to their beliefs and DIY ethics, their message contains social/political, antifascist (with the songs like "Hitler is dead") and scene related issues with good dose of humor and fun. Their side contains 4 songs including Gorilla Biscuits coversong. DICK CHENEY (Umea, Sweden) is their debut release on vinyl, contains 6 songs of the early 80's influenced hardcore sound with fast tempos and thrashy sound. If you're into traditional hardcore sound you should not miss them. Umea Hardcore still kicks ass.
10"
Five epic political hardcore songs. Belted lead vocals with nails-on-chalkboard shrieks in the background. Ominous guitar breaks tying the parts together. These songs are on the longer side, and may draw comparisons to Fucked Up, but I find this record a lot more dynamic and engaging than anything I’ve heard by that band. Blackberry yogurt colored vinyl. Props for the before and after photos of the now burned down Touchdown Jesus (Google it).
